Arcane Lores: Dream, Name
Nathaniel's sword is metaphysically one of the Sleepers that play a part in maintaining the unity of Dream, though even its creator is unclear on the exact nature of this. It burns with rainbow light as described above. The maths for the magic item work out as:
Finding:
Sword with no Name: 13pts
Starmetal : 7/2 = 4pts
Forging:
Each component forged on the Anvil of the 13th sleeper = 7+7/2pts =11pts
Bind up Power (3 dream, 1 name) = 12pts
Significant tools (Hammer of Tears as Fire): 2pts
Fixing:
Plunged into the dying form of a sleeper: 7pts
= 49pts
Seriously potent. Its original purpose of stealing identities in dream battle is unavailable while it contains the identity of the Sleeper. So I shall it has the following powers: It grants a pool of 5 psyche that may be called on during an adventure but are only recovered between adventures. With a flick of its blade it may dispatch shadowcats used against the wielder, completely negating their effect. In dream it always strikes with swift blows, cutting a foes with woven rainbows. Additionally any sentient being of dream will see it for what is and may either cower in terror from it, worship it, attempt to steal it etc. etc. It may also do crazy shit in Dream at GM discretion and with appropriate ritual or use of Onieropomp could allow Nathaniel to become a Sleeper at a later date.
Not much is that special about Nathaniel. He’s lived a life of privilege, such that it never felt fulfilling. Instead, he’s taken to stealing things, for fun and profit.
